1.1 How can I become a webcam model

Becoming a cams4us webcam model is really simple. First you need to create a free cams4us model account. To sign up as a webcam model go here [sign up] After you have created your account you need to send us a 2 contracts. The first is a Broadcasting agreement and the second is a model release. These contracts are for protecting both Mediacast (cams4us company) and you for any legal stuff. Second you need to send us a copy of your legal ID. This can be an identity card, passport or drivers license. Please make sure that when sending the legal ID the birthdate and name is readable. The ID card must include a picture of you. When sending the contracts you only need to send us the signed pages. In total there should be 4 pages to send. 2 from the broadcasting agreement (page 1 and 8) and 2 from the model release (page 2 and page 3). You can send us these documents by email (scanned) to support@cams4us.com or by regular mail. You can find all the contact details on the contact page from cams4us.com and on the contracts.

1.2. How much can I earn as a webcam model

Well, please dont send us any messages asking us how much you can make as a webcam model. I know that some sites promiss fortunes, and then its most of the times a disappointment. Yes , some models make a lot of money. But that really depends on many factors. Some of these factors are for example :

1.3. Is it allowed to work on more sites

Yes you can work on more then one webcam site, besides of cams4us. But to do so you will need cam splitting software. Windows cannot support multiple webcam streams at once without this software. Our cams4us jamoncam software is written in macromedia flash code. It can happen that you cannot connect to two or more sites that use the same macromedia flash videoserver software at once, not even with a camsplitter.

1.4. Do I need to install any webcam software

No, you dont need to install any webcam software on you pc for the live chat. When your account is activated and you click on a link called "CHAT" a new chat window will open. Our server will detect your webcam and the microphone (if you have any) The server will then pull the streaming video and sound from your pc. With other sites where you need to install webcam software, your computer will send the streaming video. We call this pull instead of push.

However if you want to record your own sex videos to sell from the site, you need to intall our free webcam recording software. You can download this free software after you logged in as a webcam model. We are using this software because the quality of the video is much better when its recorded locally on your pc and then send to the site. This way you dont loose any video quality because of your internet connection.

What you do need is : Windows 98 or better - Windows explorer 5.0 or better - Macromedia flash player (download)

1.5. What are the technical requirements

You dont need a top of the bill computer to join us. These are the minimum requirements :

1.6. How do I get paid

Payments are once per month. We allways payout the first week of the new month if your earnings are $100 or more. In some occasions we can make arrangements on other payment periods and you can allways inform us whenever you are in a crisis and need money. Exceptions can be made, but please discuss this with us first.

You can enter your preferred payment method in your account. If you choose for western union then make sure your name and address is spelled correctly. When the money wire is applicable we need to have all your international banking information. You can get this information at your own bank. Cheques are being send to the address which you enter in your account, so make sure its the correct information. Cheques are being send per signed mail, which means you need to sign for receiving it. This way its more secure then regular mail.

Our payment methods are Western union - Per cheque - Money wire by bank. The costs for each payment can be different, depending on the amount, method and frequency on payout. These costs are :

Payments via western union are allways made between the the first and the seventh of each new month. This is because we are only allowed to send a few western union payments per day, per person.

For sending a check we are charging appr $16.00 , this can differ because of the USD exchange rate. We will not charge you for sending the check via priority signed mail (costs appr. $15)

Money wire
For international money wires we are charging 50% of the international money wire costs. Depending on the country we are sending too, this can differ between $2,50 and $10

1.9. Do you accept models from romania and other eastern european countries

Yes we do accept models from romania and other eastern european countries. There are no exceptions, all models from all countries in the world are invited to join our webcam system.

1.10 .Do you offer paypal as a payment option

No we cannot use paypal as a payment option. Since we have an adult site we are not allowed anymore to use paypal as one of the payment options.

1.11.How long does it take to get my account activated

Usually we can activate an account within 24 hours, if all the documents you send us are correct. You will receive an email from us when your account is activated. Once your account is activated you can start earning money with your webcam. If you have any questions related to any problems after activation, then checkout the FAQ after activation.

2.1 Why do I have different amounts per minute in my account

Cams4us is offering different payment methods for the users. The first one is the creditcard payment. With this payment the amount per minute which you have set in your account is applicable (for example 1.99)

But there is a second option for the users which dont have a credit card. These users can connect by phone. When these users want to go privat they dial a phone number and enter the pincode, then the connection is active. The privat chat session will be active as long as they keep the phone line open.

For this pay by phone service the payout rates are different. Depending on the country they dial in from the price is different. These prices are controled by government. The payout rates are most of the times lower then the price which you have set in your account. But there are also some good things about the pay by phone option. First of all you wont have any chargebacks, second you are able to earn money on chatters that dont have a creditcard. Last but not least, the convertion ratio is much higher because these users dont have to enter any privat information from themselves and they spend more time in privat chat then creditcard users. Here is a list of the payout rates when a user uses this option. These amounts below are estimates to give you an idea! It changes daily because of the exchange rates and roundings upto 3 decimals behind the comma. You cannot claim any legal rights from the amounts listed below...

We would like to stress out that we have this option to give you as many private chatters as possible. Its better to get a privat chat at a low amount then none at all. These amounts are per user. 2.2.Where do I login as a webcam model

We dont have any special page for the models to login to their own private area. Basicly you can login anywhere on the site where it says "member login" or just "login". When you login from there the system will detect you as being a webcam model and take you to your administration area.

2.3.How do I open a chat session

Once you have successfully logged in as a webcam model you will go to your own administration area. Within your administration area you will find a link called "Free chat" click on this link and a new window will open. If this window doesnt open, then make sure you close all of your pop up stopper software. Once this window is open you will have 2 options "Free chat/Privat chat" and "Member chat". Select one of these options and click continue. You will now be taken to the chat area. We will explain the difference between "Free chat/Privat chat" and "Member chat" elsewhere on this page.

2.4.When do I earn any money

Basically you will earn money whenever a member takes you into a privat chat, when members enter your memberchat or when our visitors use the voyeur option. A user can take you into privat chat by pressing a button in his free chat screen. You will notice that when he presses this button, because your own model chat screen will change. When this happens a question is raised, just press close on the first question and then click on the red letters on your chat screen. If all is okay you will go to the private chat. After the user leaves the privat chat you will see a message 'Member left the chat' , you can then go back to free chat or memberchat. In memberchat you will get payed as soon as the first member enters this 'memberchat' , remember that in memberchat more then one member can enter simultaniously, and you will get paid for each member in this chat option. Whenever a user decides to be a voyeur (which is an option when you are in member or privat chat) you will not notice this yourself. You will only see the use of the voyeur option in your reports!

You will also receive money when a member chooses to watch one of the prerecorded liveshows or rents one of your videos which you can upload with our mini recorder.

In your reports you will see :

Private = Privat session with a user that bought credits with his credit card
Phprivate = Privat session with a user that logged into privat chat with his phone
Gang = When a member enters your memberchat and pays with creditcard
Phgang = When a member enters your memberchat and pays by phone
Voyeur = When a member uses the voyeur option and pays by creditcard
Phvoyeur = When a member uses the voyeur option and pays by phone
Prerec = When a member chooses to watch a prerecorded live show of yours
Gallery = When the user rents one of your uploaded videos

2.5.How can a member go to privat chat

When a member is in your privat chat he has the option to go to a privat chat with you. The only thing he has to do is click the button on top of his chat screen "Take me private" Then he gets a question if he wants to pay by phone or pay by credits. After he answered this question he can enter your privat chat.

2.6.What is a chargeback

A chargeback is a credit card transaction that was reported by the credit card owner as fraude. This can happen when for example someone used stolen creditcards and such. Unfortunately we have to back charge the model for the 50% that was used on them. Ofcourse we will always investigate these transactions first. At the moment we are at 2% chargback on all transactions so far. Please note that we are doing everything possible to prevent this kind of fraud, but we can never get a 100% fraudeless system.

2.7.My free chat doesnt work anymore

Sometimes temporary files get locked inside your computer, and you get a message "You are disconnected" The way to solve this issue is following.

Log out of cams4us and open a new browser window
Within the browser window go to Tools > Internet options (in the toolbar on top of the browser)
When you opened the window internet options delete your cache (temporary internet files)
> Click on the button Delete cookies
> Click on the button Delete files
> Click on the button Delete history
> Close this window...

Now go back to cams4us and login. Try the free chat again....

2.8.What is pay by phone

Pay by phone is a payment option for the member. This is just another option besides of the creditcard payments. Users from certain countries can choose to pay for private chat, memberchat and voyeur via their phone bill. When a user chooses privat chat, he/she is presented with 2 options : Pay by phone or Pay by credits. When he chooses pay by phone he/she first has to choose its country, then he/she is presented with a phone number and a pincode. He then needs to dial this phone number and enter the pincode. After he took these actions the privat chat will be activated. Please remember that the payout rates for pay by phone members is different from the normal pay by creditcard. Read more about this in our other faq 21

2.9.Why cant i see my webcam


Please check first if your webcam works with other applications like yahoo and msn. If this doesnt work then make sure the webcam is properly connected.

Please remember that windows can only handle 1 video stream at a time. If you have connected youar webcam to any other software that uses it, the video will not be displayed on cams4us. For example if you are allready are using your webcam on yahoo then it wont work, because cams4us will be the second video stream. If you want to use multiple video streams you can get Camsplitting software on the internet. For example if you want to connect to more then 1 webcam site.

Another possible problem can be firewalls, if you have a firewall this migh prevent the video stream coming through from your computer to cams4us. Firewalls can be in your windows xp service pack 2 or from external firewall software on the pc or router.

A third option is that you did not yet install the free macromedia flash player. This software is needed to make cams4us work. You can download the free macromedia flash player here.

2.10.My customer is blocked, what happened

For security reasons a user is only allowed to spend $150 a day and $500 per 30 days. If the user spends more then that he needs to contact our office to be able to spend more. A user can also be blocked for other reasons like unappropriate behaviour or when we dont trust the user. A user that is blocked allways needs to contact our office.

2.11.What is memberchat

When you go to your chat you will see 2 options, one of them is memberchat. In memberchat only users with credits in their account, and pay by phone can enter. So all users that will be in memberchat are paying members. In memberchat more then 1 user can enter simultaniously, you will be paid for each member that enters the memberchat 100%. If you choose memberchat you should allways be in front of the cam! When you leave you need to change to free chat or close the memberchat. Our member chat is also known as "gangbang" When you are a new model we dont advice to start with the memberchat immidiately, its better to create a fanclub of members in free webcam chat first.

2.12.What is free chat

This is the other option you will see when you connect to the chat. Free chat is a non nude chat area in which the members can chat with you for free. This is a great way to impress the users and convince them to take you into private chat. On the internet this feature is also known as teaser chat. A user can invite you to a privat webcam session in which he can get more intimate. The user also has the option to show his own webcam. Credit card users need to pay $1 extra when they want to show their cam to you. Unfortunately this is not the case for pay by phone users, because thats just technically not possible. Pay by phone users can show their cam to you , but they will not be extra charged for this option.

When you are in privat chat with a user then other users can watch the show via the 'be a voyeur' option. You will not see these users in your chat screen, but you will find them in your reports later.

2.13.How can I block countries

If you dont want to be seen in certain countries or states then you can block them from your model account. First you need to login and then click on the 'block' link. Within the box countries select the country and put it to the right box with the arrow. All the countries in the box on the right are the countries that are actually blocked.

You can do the same for member names and ip addresses.

Sometimes it happens that members misbehave or insult you in any way possible. You are in control and you can kick out or ban members from your chat room.
